It's Springtime here in Western Washington. After witnessing yet another gloomy and wet winter, people all around are pretty excited at the onset of Spring. Days are getting longer, and rains getting lesser. Tulips are blooming in the roadside beds and trees are springing back to life, now laden with vibrant flowers. The weather is nice and bright and the sun shines happily above us almost everyday now. Color, light, cheer, laughter, life..well, this is spring!
Like always, in late March the cherry blossoms at the Quad, UW delightfully proclaimed that warmer weather was officially on its way. And, like last year, we carried out the ritual of visiting the blossoms this year as well. The magnificence of the blossoms and the spirits of the visitors was undoubtedly remarkable. There were families, there were friends, there were couples and there were cameras..lots and lots of cameras. Here's a click from mine.
Next, I hear that the tulips in the Skagit Valley are in full bloom. Every year in the month of April, they hold the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival, with thousands of tulips on public display. I've not had a chance to go there, but I've seen the photos and trust me, the fields are breathtakingly beautiful. The weather prediction for the weekend ahead is nothing but great. So, we might hit the road early and visit the tulip festival tomorrow. More pictures in the next post.
P.S. - Spring is beautiful :) :)
